Our visit to Exeter Museum
On Tuesday we travelled to Exeter to visit the RAMM (Royal Albert Memorial Museum) to inspire us in our poetry writing. We spent the day sketching, writing and learning.
The children made some surprising connections between some of the artefacts they saw and what they have been learning and reading. Such as, Stone Age artefacts that were found in Kent's Cavern (where we recently visited for our History learning); the traditional dress of some indigenous Amazonian people (a region we have been learning about in Geography); the Seaton Down Hoard (a Roman stash of coins discovered near to our school); and we examined different types of teeth (which we have been learning about in Science). No wonder we were all exhausted by the time we got back to school!
